As a teenager, I dreamed of one day owning a Porsche. My bedroom was covered in Porsche posters. I was particularly keen on the idea of a Porsche 924 - mainly because it was the cheapest one available. As I grew older and started driving cars on the road, my dream faded into the background.
Until one day whilst browsing the Autotrader I noticed a Porsche 924 for sale in the salvage section. I went to look, fell in love and gave them an offer. They accepted so I returned with the cash and a trailer....... The dream was alive.  Whilst the car looks a little dated now, it was 1993 and it looked a little more up to date then. 2 years later I bought a black 924.
In 1992 Porsche released the 968, a car developed as an interim measure to replace the dating 944, whilst development started on the Porsche Boxter. I was captivated the first time I saw the 968 but it wasn't until 2003 that I managed to own one.
There were only 12,776 Porsche 968s ever manufactured between 1992 and 1995. The club sport model was a stripped down model to make it lighter and cheaper to produce. It had the heavy seats taken away and luxuries like electric windws were out. As there were only 218 right hand drive cabriolets imported to the UK, they are very rare. I had to opt for a left hand drive version imported a few years ago from Italy. It feels natural to drive in left hand drive form.

People wander around and examine each other's cars - it's almost sad really.
